Bandipora, September 05: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad, Joint Director Planning (Bandipora) Imtiyaz Ahmad Saturday inspected the installation of Street lights in Bandipora district.

He was accompanied by Chairman Municipal Council Bandipora Basharat Ahmad, Executive Officer MCB Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, ARE R&B and other senior officers of the district.
On the occasion The JD Planning stresses on installing the street lights on locations that witnesses public movement in wee hours in the market for the convenience of the public.

He said more than 300 solar enabled Street lights will be installed in 3 major towns of the district. He said the street lights have been provided by JKEDA and are solar enabled and hence don’t need any electricity and has a warranty of 5 years.

Imtiyaz Ahmad, who is also the Chief Planning Officer Bandipora , said that the lights have a helpline number engraved on it with unique code so that in case of failure the same are reported instantly and are repaired immediately.

On the occasion he interacted with the business community and transporters of the town who apprised him about the issues in the town with regard to parking, drainage and sanitation. JDP gave patient hearing to the people and assured them that he will personally take up the issues so that they r resolved at earliest. He urged the R&B department to expedite the work on improvement of drainage system in the town.
