SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 5: District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin today inaugurated the Lift Irrigation (LI) Scheme at Awneera Shopian.
The Scheme is coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 42 lacs and executed by I & FC department Kashmir.
On the occasion, the DDC said that the district administration is always at the forefront to provide every possible help to the people of Shopian especially to those living in far-flung areas.
He further said that after two decades this lift irrigation scheme was commissioned which would irrigate the hundreds of kanals of horticulture land (Orchards) of various areas of the village.
The people of these areas appreciated the efforts of district administration to fulfill their long pending demand, they also projected some other demands and issues and sought their early redressal.
The DDC assured them that all their genuine demands and issues would be looked into and redressed as soon as possible.
During the visit, SDM Zainapora Syed Alatf and other officers accompanied the DDC.
