Nipura Royals won the National Highway Volleyball League Final played between Nipura Royals & Vessu Snow Leopards.
19 RR Armoured regiment organised A Volleyball League in south kashmirs Kulgam district in which12 teams took participate in League wherein Vessu Snow Leopards stood 2nd and Wangund King secured 3rd position.
Zubair Ahmad was adjudged the Best Player of the League & Suhail Ahmed was awarded with the promising player of the League. The tournament was organised in continuation with the initiative by Indian Army to build sportsmanship among youth of South Kashmir. Brig VS Thakur, Cdr HQ 2 Sectt RR,distribute prizes among participants and said that these kind of tournaments increase the motivation of Kashmiri youth and Indian Army will persist organising such events in the future as well. On this occasion Chief guest DC Kulgam along with DSP (Ops) Kulgam also graced the event.
Sarpances of concerned villages also attended the event.
The aim of the tournament was to call up the hidden talent enshrouded in humble background of the remote villages. This tournament gave them an opportunity to showcase their Sportsman ship skills & competitive spirit and it also raised their confidence.
17 year old Junaid made his team proud when he was adjudged the upcoming player of the League – NHVL. Like Junaid about 80 youths from 12 remote villages of Kulgam district got an opportunity to showcase their talent & to pursue the game as their career.
Medals and Cash Prize were given to the winner, runners up team and 2nd runner up team. The tournament was a big success as these young talents were aspiring to be searched for and brought in to the lime light. The participants were grateful & happy to be part of NHVL & requested Indian Army to organise more such events in the future.
