Kulgam Police Arrests Man Accused Of Hitting Pedestrian Within 2 Hours

A woman was among four persons killed while three persons were injured in separate road accidents in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
Official sources told GNS that two persons were killed and a girl injured when a matador they were travelling in turned turtle in Reasi district of Jammu.
The accident took place at 1515 hours when the Matador (JK02W-8912) on way to Budhal from Chassana turned turtle near Zero Morh, resulting in the death of conductor and owner of the vehicle Sanjeev Singh (33) son of Mohan Singh of Chassana and a passenger Liaqat Hussain (32) son of Kagh Hussain Hajjam of Kalaban Banna. Another passenger, Pooja Devi (14) daughter of Fanjay Ram of Ganjoli, suffered injury in her arm, they said.
There were 10 passengers in the matador and other escaped unhurt, they said.
SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir confirmed to GNS casualties in the accident and said that a case has been registered.
Woman killed, 2 persons injured as vehicle falls in gorge in Rajouri
A 46-year-old woman died while her husband and brother-in-law were injured when a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Manjakote area in Rajouri district.
Official said that at 6:10 a.m., a Maruti 800 (JK02AB-4075) on its way from Mendhar to Jammu rolled down 30-40 feet deep in a gorge at Katarmal Manjakote, resulting in the on the spot death of Parveen Akhtar (46) wife of Mohammad Younis and injuries to Mohammad Younis (55) son of Jan Mohammad and his brother, Sajad Ahmed (22), all residents of Kalaban Mendhar.
SHO Manjakote Pankaj Sharma confirmed the death of the woman and injuries to two persons. He said the injured were shifted to GMC Rajouri police.
A 65-year-old pedestrian was killed when hit by an unknown vehicle in Kulgam near Ziyarat Shareef.
A police officer identified the deceases as Mohammad Aameen Shah (65) son of Ghulam Hassan Shah resident of Shah Mohalla Kulgam.
“Acting swiftly, a special team headed by DYSP HQRs Kulgam Ghulam Mohd Bhat-JKPS and SHO Kulgam Insp Davinder Singh was constituted to nab the culprit, “ police said, adding, “With strenuous efforts specific information regarding the presence of accused was generated by the investigating team and the accused was arrested within two hours after the mishap took place and vehicle bearing registration No. JK03-7280 was seized.”
Police said that a case (FIR No 217/2020) under section 279,337 IPC stands registered in police Station Kulgam and further investigation has been taken up. GNS
