It was on June 12, last year, when none died due to pandemic; 121 fresh positive cases in UT, total cases 122,885; recovery rate over 97 percent in UT

Srinagar, Jan 13: For the first time in past seven months, Jammu and Kashmir witnessed no Covid related death even as 121 fresh cases were recorded in the UT, taking the tally of positive cases to 122,885.
Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that last time it was on June 12, when no Covid-related death was reported in J&K. “Today it is after a gap of almost seven months that past 24 hours passed without any Covid related causality,” a senior official in the J&K’s health department said.
Of the exact number of 122,885 cases, 71,952 are from Kashmir and 50,933 from Jammu division. Officials told KNO that among 121 new cases, 66 belong to Kashmir division while as 55 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 71,952 including 69,936 recoveries and 1,200 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 50,933 including 49,408 recoveries and 712 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,629 including 816 from Kashmir division and 813 from Jammu division.
With 174 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 119,344 which is 97.10 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 35 from Srinagar, 08 from Baramulla, 07 from Budgam, 05 from Pulwama, 03 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 02 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 55 from Jammu division include 47 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 02 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 03 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 25,697 positive cases including 452 deaths and 25,047 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,047 including 172 deaths and 7,810 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,690 including 7,515 recoveries and 111 deaths are from Budgam, 5,651 including 5,466 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,607 including 94 deaths and 5,433 recoveries are from Pulwama, 4,836 including 4,697 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,675 cases including 4,574 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,541 including 4,409 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,672 including 2,572 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,536 including 2,413 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 24,475 including 23,670 recoveries and 365 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,172 including 4,025 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,862 including 3,769 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,425 including 3,328 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,241 including 3,180 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Kathua, 2,807 including 2,619 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Samba, 2,729 including 2,699 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,469 including 2,416 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,120 including 2,089 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,633 including 1,613 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 973,732 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 32,891 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,629 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 901,268 persons have completed surveillance period and 36,032 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 4,164,847 samples are available.
Out of 4,164,847 the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,041,962 while as 122,885 have tested positive, among them 1,629 persons are active, 119,344 persons have recovered and 1,912 persons have died—(KNO)
