Tally reaches 126,932; death toll reaches 1961, Active cases around 900 in J&K, recovery rate around 98 percent

Srinagar, Mar 06: Covid-19 on Saturday claimed one more life in Jammu and Kashmir taking the toll of deaths related to Covid-19 to 1,961 while 79 fresh positive cases were reported taking tally of positive cases to 126,932.
Of the exact number of 126,932 cases, 74,849 are from Kashmir and 52,083 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 79 new cases, 61 belong to Kashmir division while as 18 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 74,849 including 72,921 recoveries and 1,234 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 52,083 including 51,168 recoveries and 727 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 882 including 694 from Kashmir division and 188 from Jammu division.
With 87 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 124,089 which is 97.78 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 35 from Srinagar, 09 from Baramulla, 04 from Budgam, 05 from Pulwama, 01 from Kupwara, 05 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 01 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 18 from Jammu division include 16 from Jammu, 00 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 27,255 positive cases including 461 deaths and 26,373 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,308 including 175 deaths and 8,062 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,914 including 7,755 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,881 including 5,743 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,692 including 97 deaths and 5,585 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,049 including 4,924 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,720 cases including 4,641 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,677 including 4,617 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,742 including 2,667 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,611 including 2,554 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 25,298 including 24,807 recoveries and 374 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,318 including 4,212 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,876 including 3,821 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,438 including 3,374 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,266 including 3,206 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,841 including 2,794 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,738 including 2,714 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,525 including 2,496 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,648 including 1,630 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,352,162 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 32,269 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 882 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,205,275 persons have completed surveillance period and 111,775 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,363,489 samples are available.
Out of 5,363,489 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,236,557 while as 126,932 have tested positive, among them 882 persons are active, 124,089 persons have recovered and 1,961 persons have died—(KNO)
