One more death reported, toll reaches 1980, recovery rate below 98 percent, Active cases near 1,200, 140 test positive, tally reaches 128,389

Srinagar, Mar 20: The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir have once again started to rise as 140 positive cases were reported on Saturday pushing the number of active cases to 1, 200, which otherwise were less than 600, a few days ago.
Pertinently, one more person died due to pandemic taking the death toll to 1,980 while 140 fresh positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 128,389.
Of the exact number of 128,389 cases, 76,041 are from Kashmir and 52,348 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 140 new cases, 115 belong to Kashmir division while as 25 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 76,041 including 73,865 recoveries and 1,248 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 52,348 including 51,353 recoveries and 732 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,191 including 928 from Kashmir division and 263 from Jammu division.
With 100 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 125,218 which is 97.53 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 73 from Srinagar, 14 from Baramulla, 18 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama, 03 from Kupwara, 03 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 25 from Jammu division include 22 from Jammu, 03 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 27,952 positive cases including 465 deaths and 26,886 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,476 including 178 deaths and 8,192 recoveries are from Baramulla, 8,028 including 7,826 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,923 including 5,800 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,735 including 97 deaths and 5,617 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,106 including 4,993 recoveries and 93 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,733 cases including 4,660 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,693 including 4,634 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,758 including 2,688 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,637 including 2,569 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 25,499 including 24,913 recoveries and 379 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,331 including 4,263 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,883 including 3,822 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,447 including 3,376 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,275 including 3,218 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,843 including 2,800 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Samba, 2,739 including 2,717 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,535 including 2,496 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,138 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,658 including 1,634 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,426,261 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 30,294 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,191 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,271,139 persons have completed surveillance period and 121,657 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,717,093 samples are available. Out of 5,717,093 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,588,704 while as 128,389 have tested positive, among them 1,191 persons are active, 125,218 persons have recovered and 1,980 persons have died—(KNO)
