New Delhi, june, 02: Media reports said there could be another four percent hike in DA. Now, the total DA could reach up to 38 percent.
The employees must know that the Dearness Allowance is revised twice a year. The first is given from January to June, while the second comes from July to December.
The Centre had on March 30 this year hiked Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) by 3 percent to 34 percent to compensate for the price rise, benefitting over 1.16 crore central government employees and pensioners.
The DA is increased for the government employees in accordance with the accepted formula, which is based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
At present, the DA of the employees stands at 34 percent. However, after the hike, their DA will increase to 38 percent.
If the DA is increased, then there will be a pay hike which will range from Rs 8,000 to Rs 27,000, depending on the basic salary of the employees
