Baramulla, May 10: A sudden windstorm wreaked havoc in Baramulla district, particularly impacting the Pattan area. The storm caused multiple trees to fall onto the Srinagar-Baramulla national highway, halting traffic movement for approximately 3 to 4 hours. Thousands of vehicles, including private cars, buses, and ambulances, were left stranded. Pattan police are working to clear debris and restore normalcy to the road.
Additionally, the storm caused significant damage to crops and apple orchards, with authorities assessing the extent of the losses to provide support to affected farmers.
