Kulgam, Oct, 25: The fire in the Lammer Kulgam Forest block has been brought under control after several days of intensive firefighting. The blaze affected four compartments, prompting immediate action from the forest department.
Ranger Officer Suhail Ah Wani reported that while most of the fire has been contained, there has been reoccurrence in two compartments. “The forest department has been on high alert from day one,” Wani stated, adding that mop-up operations are still ongoing to ensure complete extinguishment.
Local residents have expressed their appreciation for the forest department’s swift response and efforts to bring the fire under control. Many commended the teams for their dedication and commitment to protecting the forest and surrounding communities.
