Kulgam, Oct 26: In a significant move against drug-related crime, Kulgam Police on Saturday attached the property of Imran Ahmad Ganie, a known drug peddler, in the Nussu Badragund area of Qazigund. Ganie, currently incarcerated at Central Jail Kot Balwal in Jammu under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act, has multiple drug-related cases against him.
Authorities confirmed that the attached property is a double-storied residential house belonging to Ganie, son of the late Mohd Ramzan Ganie. This action falls under Section 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act of 1985 and is connected to FIR no. 34/2024 registered at Police Station Qazigund.
Police officials stated that the property was identified as illegally acquired during their investigation. They emphasized that stringent measures will be taken against individuals involved in drug trafficking. “Our actions should reassure the community that we are committed to combating the drug menace and protecting our society,” a police spokesperson remarked.
