Pattan, Aug 03: A thrilling encounter unfolded today at the SNM Cricket Stadium, Chandrahama, Pattan, where two of North Kashmir’s top cricket teams Mirgund Hunks and Friends Motors Cricket Club, Narbal clashed in the Pattan Edition of the Kilo T-20 Premier League.
In a nail-biting finish that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Friends Motors Narbal emerged victorious by just 1 wicket, sealing the match in the final over of the game. With 10 runs required off the last 5 balls and only one wicket in hand, the tension was palpable.
In a stunning finish, the last-wicket batter smashed a six followed by a boundary, taking his team over the line in dramatic fashion.
This high-voltage match not only entertained spectators but also marked a significant moment as both teams Mirgund Hunks and Friends Motors Narbal have now qualified to represent Pattan, Baramulla in the second and final phase of the Kilo T-20 Premier League, which is set to take place in the picturesque Lolab.

The tournament Organized under the aegis of the 29 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion as part of Operation Sadhbhavna, the tournament is a significant initiative aimed at promoting peace, unity, and youth empowerment in the remote regions of North Kashmir. It serves as a vibrant platform to foster sportsmanship, channel youthful energy into positive avenues, and uncover emerging cricketing talent.
“The league is not just a competition it’s a bridge of goodwill between the Indian Army and the youth of Kashmir,” said the captain of Mirgund Hunks. “The infrastructure and professional support provided have made a huge difference in how the game is played and perceived here.”
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from budding cricketers across villages and blocks of Srinagar, Budgam, and Baramulla districts. Matches were held on well-prepared grounds with logistical and administrative support from both the Indian Army and civil administration, ensuring professionalism and fair play.
