Pattan, August 28: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has been implementing the Pan-India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign since 2022. As part of this initiative, a rescue and rehabilitation drive was conducted today at Singhpora, Pattan, and Palhalan, with the aim of spreading awareness on child rights and laws related to the protection of children.
During the drive, one child was found engaged in labour activities. The child was immediately rescued and shifted to a Government-run Child Care Institution (CCI) for care, protection, and rehabilitation.
Ms. Nazia, Member of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), urged the public to refrain from engaging children in labour, stressing that such practices are punishable under law and gravely affect a child’s wellbeing and future.
Pattan Police also extended their support during the drive, ensuring smooth coordination in the rescue efforts.
The campaign reiterates its core objective—to rescue children engaged in child and adolescent labour, as well as those in street situations—while promoting collective responsibility to eliminate child exploitation from society.
