Black Bear Captured in Verinag After Swift Action by Wildlife Department

Verinag, Dec 04: The Wildlife Department team, led by Incharge Control Room Dooru Gulzar Ahmad Shah, along with Bashir Ahmad, Adil Ahmad Naik, and shooter Ovias Khan, acted swiftly and efficiently after receiving information about a black bear roaming in the Verinag area.

Responding promptly to the alert, the team installed a trap cage at the suspected location. Their quick and coordinated action yielded results as, on 04/12/25, they successfully captured the violent black bear, bringing immense relief to residents who had been living in fear over the past few days.

Local people hailed the timely intervention of the wildlife team for ensuring public safety and preventing any possible mishap.
