Srinagar, Jan 03: In a meaningful humanitarian initiative during the harsh winter conditions in Jammu and Kashmir, Shining India Foundation (SIF) distributed nearly 400 blankets among the most vulnerable sections of society, including the poor, orphans, and widows who are surviving in sub-zero temperatures.

Speaking at the distribution site, M. Ghazi, Chairman of Shining India Foundation, drew attention to the severe hardships faced by underprivileged families during the extreme cold. He said that many widows, orphaned children, and poor families are living in conditions beyond their capacity to endure, making immediate humanitarian support essential.

It is the collective responsibility of society to come forward and support such families,” Ghazi said, adding that distributing blankets and warm clothing is not merely charity but a duty of humanity. He stressed that such noble acts must be carried out above religion, caste, and social divisions, as compassion and service to mankind are universal values.

Highlighting the teachings of Islam, Ghazi said the religion gives a strong message of humanity, empathy, and kindness towards all people living on this earth. “Promoting love, peace, and brotherhood is the responsibility of every individual,” he added.

During his address, M. Ghazi also made a strong appeal to the people of Kashmir to prioritize education, especially higher and quality education for their children. He said that without education, it is impossible for families to break the cycle of poverty.

If you truly want progress and dream of a bright and dignified future, you must invest in the higher education of your children,” he said. Ghazi emphasized that education is the most powerful tool through which coming generations can achieve self-reliance, dignity, and long-term social and economic stability.
The blanket distribution drive was warmly welcomed by the local community, with beneficiaries expressing deep gratitude to Shining India Foundation and its supporters.

Through such initiatives, the Foundation continues to stand with the needy while also spreading awareness about education, humanity, and sustainable development in the region.
