According to official sources, Mumtaz Ahmed Tedwa and Tanveer Ahmed Tedwa, sons of Muhammad Shafi Tedwa and inhabitants of Theon Kangan, fell into the canal during the incident. Tanveer Ahmed Tedwa entered the canal in an attempt to rescue his brother but was swept away by the strong current.

Police and State Disaster Response Force teams were informed soon after the incident and rushed to the spot to initiate rescue operations. Mumtaz Ahmed Tedwa was retrieved from the canal and shifted to the Trauma Hospital Kangan for treatment.

Doctors at the Trauma Hospital said Mumtaz Ahmed had suffered a cardiac episode, following which he lost consciousness and fell into the canal. His condition is reported to be stable, and he was later referred to SKIMS Soura for further medical management.

Meanwhile, search operations are continuing to locate Tanveer Ahmed Tedwa. SDRF and police teams are conducting coordinated efforts along the canal stretch.

Officials said the operation is being supervised on the ground by senior police officers, including the SDPO Kangan and SHO Kangan, to ensure effective coordination and safety during the search. [KNT]
