Srinagar, 23 Nov: There has been early arrival of winter this year too like previous two years.
Srinagar recorded the coldest day of the season so far on Monday with the temperature at 3.7 degrees Celsius.
As per Independent weather forecaster, Kashmir Weather, the low temperature was due to snowfall this morning in many parts of Kashmir.
At 0.5 degrees Gulmarg was the coldest place in Jammu and Kashmir. Due to further rain/snow forecast, day temperature is expected to stay below normal (6°C – 12°C) in most parts of Kashmir till November 25, as per Kashmir Weather.
The maximum temperature was 19.2°C in Jammu city while in the Katra base camp town of Mata Vaishno Devi shrine the maximum was 16.6 degrees Celsius.
Banihal, Batote and Bhaderwah towns of Jammu division had 5.4°C, 6.1°C and 7.6°C as the maximum temperatures, respectively.
In the Ladakh Union Territory, Leh town recorded 0.3°C and Kargil 1.3°C as the maximum temperatures on Monday.
