December 28: Budgam Police have arrested an accused involved in kidnapping and rape case ,within 24 hours.
Police Station Budgam received a complaint stating that a girl (name with held) has been kidnapped and sexually assaulted by one person namely Arzaan Ahmed Khan S/o Kousar Ahmed Khan resident of Gulberg Colony, Hyderpora.
Accordingly, Case FIR No. 465/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered at P/S Budgam and investigation was initiated.
A special team headed by SHO Budgam acting swiftly and arrested the accused within 24 hours after complaint was received. He has been shifted to P/S Budgam where he remains in custody.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs.
Investigation into the matter is in progress.
