Srinagar, Jan 14: Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday recorded three more deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,915 in the Union Territory while as 79 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 122,964 in J&K.

The three Covid deaths came a day after when no one died of the pandemic in the past seven months in J&K UT. Of the exact number of 122,964 cases, 72,001 are from Kashmir and 50,963 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 79 new cases, 49 belong to Kashmir division while as 30 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 72,001 including 70,048 recoveries and 1,203 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 50,963 including 49,533 recoveries and 712 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,468 including 750 from Kashmir division and 718 from Jammu division.

With 237 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 119,581 which is 97.25 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 26 from Srinagar, 03 from Baramulla, 04 from Budgam, 04 from Pulwama, 01 from Kupwara, 03 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 30 from Jammu division include 23 from Jammu, 04 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 01 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24-hours three persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, who all belong to Kashmir division.

As per officials figures, 25,723 positive cases including 453 deaths and 25,078 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,050 including 172 deaths and 7,811 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,694 including 7,527 recoveries and 113 deaths are from Budgam, 5,655 including 5,485 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,608 including 94 deaths and 5,441 recoveries are from Pulwama, 4,839 including 4,701 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,676 cases including 4,576 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,546 including 4,427 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,674 including 2,575 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,536 including 2,427 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 24,498 including 23,722 recoveries and 365 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,176 including 4,028 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,862 including 3,779 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,426 including 3,333 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,242 including 3,182 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Kathua, 2,807 including 2,672 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Samba, 2,729 including 2,699 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,469 including 2,416 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,121 including 2,089 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,633 including 1,613 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 985,055 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 32,662 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,468 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 905,089 persons have completed surveillance period and 43,921 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 4,188,783 samples are available.

Out of 4,188,783 the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,065,819 while as 122,964 have tested positive, among them 1,468 persons are active, 119,581 persons have recovered and 1,915 persons have died—(KNO)
