Srinagar, Jan 16: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded one more death due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,921 in the Union Territory while as 109 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 123,217 in J&K.

Of the exact number of 123,217 cases, 72,135 are from Kashmir and 51,082 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 109 new cases, 54 belong to Kashmir division while as 55 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 72,135 including 70,204 recoveries and 1,206 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 51,082 including 49,812 recoveries and 715 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,280 including 725 from Kashmir division and 555 from Jammu division.

With 256 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 120,016 which is 97.41 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 20 from Srinagar, 08 from Baramulla, 05 from Budgam, 07 from Pulwama,   05 from Kupwara, 01 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 55 from Jammu division include 47 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 02 from Kathua, 03 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 01 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours one person belonging to kashmir division who was  tested positive for COVID-19 has died.

As per officials figures, 25,783 positive cases including 453 deaths and 25,115 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,060 including 172 deaths and 7,826 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,701 including 7,542 recoveries and 115 deaths are from Budgam, 5,665 including 5,505 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,616 including 94 deaths and 5,454 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,846 including 4,711 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,678 cases including 4,579 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,561 including 4,431 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,678 including 2,582 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,547 including 2,459 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 24,591 including 23,939 recoveries and 367 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,179 including 4,043 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,862 including 3,793 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,426 including 3,342 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,245 including 3,185  recoveries and 51 deaths are from Kathua, 2,819 including 2,682 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Samba, 2,729 including 2,699 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,471 including 2,421 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,127 including 2,095 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,633 including 1,613 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,000,494 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 33,966 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,280 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 909,969 persons have completed surveillance period and 53,358 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 4,234,239 samples are available.

Out of 4,234,239 the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,111,022 while as 123,217 have tested positive, among them 1,280 persons are active, 120,016 persons have recovered and 1,921 persons have died—(KNO)
