Total cases 124,157 tally of deaths soars to 1,930 deaths; recovery rate over 97 percent in UT

Srinagar, Jan 26 : Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday recorded one more death due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,930 in the Union Territory while as 74 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 124,157 in J&K.
Of the exact number of 124,157 cases, 72,688 are from Kashmir and 51,469 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 74 new cases, 51 belong to Kashmir division while as 23 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 72,688 including 70,788 recoveries and 1,211 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 51,469 including 50,336 recoveries and 719 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,103 including 689 from Kashmir division and 414 from Jammu division.
With 54 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 121,124 which is 97.52 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 37 from Srinagar, 03 from Baramulla, 02 from Budgam, 03 from Pulwama, 01 from Kupwara, 02 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 01 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 23 from Jammu division include 20 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 01 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours one person belonging to Kashmir division who was tested positive for COVID-19 has died.
As per officials figures, 26,077 positive cases including 454 deaths and 25,338 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,088 including 173 deaths and 7,868 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,754 including 7,586 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Budgam, 5,703 including 5,552 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,646 including 95 deaths and 5,515 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,881 including 4,746 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,687 cases including 4,604 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,598 including 4,483 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,690 including 2,605 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,564 including 2,491 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 24,909 including 24,272 recoveries and 370 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,196 including 4,114 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,867 including 3,807 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,428 including 3,361 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,253 including 3,199 recoveries and 51 deaths are from Kathua, 2,826 including 2,711 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,731 including 2,708 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,490 including 2,438 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,131 including 2,108 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,638 including 1,618 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,089,360 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 34,929 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,103 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 954,787 persons have completed surveillance period and 96,611 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 4,444,236 samples are available.
Out of 4,444,236 the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,320,079 while as 124,157 have tested positive, among them 1,103 persons are active, 121,124 persons have recovered and 1,930 persons have died—(KNO)
