The much hyped Prime Minister’s Saubhagya Scheme or Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana an Indian government project to provide electricity to the households.
The project was announced in September 2017 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with aim to complete the electrification process by December 2018 but it has been failed to take off in parts of Kashmir particularly in South Anantnag district.
Locals from Pethbugh Dailgam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag are up in arms against the PDD department for availability of electricity in the area.
Locals from the area said that work was on the project was started two years ago still it has not been completed till date, which results to the non availability of electricity to many families.
They said transformer and electricity poles has been installed in the area but still non functional.
They further said we have installed wires by self on trees which pose risk and can be dangerous.
Meanwhile talking with Aee Fayaz Ahmad regarding matter he said due to shortfall of required material it remained incomplete ,which are being completed till March 2021 as soon as funds are released for same project.
