WEATHER UPDATE FOR J&K AND LADAKH(2.2.2021)
FORECAST FOR J&K:RAIN/SNOW:Under the influence of a fresh Western Disturbance, Scattered to Widespread Light to Moderate rain/snow very Likely in J&K during 2nd(Night) to 4th Forenoon. Plains of Jammu likely to experience thunderstorm, lightning & Hail mainly on 3rd.
There’s very less chances of HEAVY precipitation in plains of J&K but HEAVY snowfall especially on higher reaches of J&K can’t be ruled out either especially on 3rd Feb.
PROBABLE IMPACTS:
Temporary Closure of Srinagar-Jmu National Highway.
Land/Mud Slide on Srinagar-Jmu National highway.
Delay/Disruption in Flight Operation on 3rd Feb at Srinagar Airport due to snowfall leading to poor visibility.
Slippery Road conditions due to snowfall & Low temperature mainly during morning hours.
ACTION SUGGESTED
Embark journey on Srinagar-Jmu highway after confirming road status from Traffic Department to avoid inconveniences.
Be in contact with Airport Authority/Travel Agents to check flight status.
Drive cars slowly and Carefully to Avoid Accident.
Maintain proper Drainage of fields to drain out excess water.
LADAKH: Light snowfall likely at scattered places of Kargil, Drass, Minagarg, Zanskar and on higher reaches of Leh district on 3rd Feb.
TEMPERATURE:Due to approaching WD, there will be increase in cloud cover over both UTs. As a result, there will be rise in Min.Temp.(Night) by 2-3deg. & fall day temp.(Max.) by 4-5deg. (Warmer Nights & Colder Days) from tonight till 4th Feb.
