Bandipora, Feb 9: Police arrested a drug peddler in Ganastan Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district and recovered large quantity of Charas powder from his possession.
Police said that based on specific information, a police party of Police Post Nowgam led by Choki Officer Nowgam under the supervision of SDPO Sumbal Nisar Ahmad during naka checking at Ganastan signaled one Scooter (DL13SH0280) rider to stop and during checking 15 KG’s of Charas powder was recovered.
The accused Scooter rider has been identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Beig, a resident of Ganastan Sumbal.
Accordingly case vide FIR Number 14/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered at police station Sumbal and further investigation taken up. (KNT)
