Jammu, Feb 19: Jammu and Kashmir’s young cricketer Yudvir Singh Charak is all set to make his presence felt in the biggest domestic T20 league of the world Indian Premier League -after being bought by the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the auction.

As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Charak whose ancestors are from Rajouri and now living in Roop Nagar Jammu from last five decades was bought by the MI in the players’ auction on Thursday for a price of INR 20 lakh.

Talking exclusively to KNO, Yudvir said that he wasn’t expecting that he will be picked up by any team, however, he feels happy after getting selected in IPL.

“I was interested in Cricket since my childhood but support of family wasn’t too good. I continued to play cricket whenever I got time,” he said, adding that “In year 2016, my friend Deepak told me that you are talented and you should go for trails for under 19 selection and fortunately I got selected.”

He said that since then he has played at various levels including Mushtaq Ali, Ranji trophy and others from Hyderabad side.

“I and my family besides coaches and relatives are very happy to see me in IPL and there is festive environment at my home,” he said while thanking his family, relatives and coaches including Vivek Singh, Adnan Bofana from Hyderabad besides Ambati Raydu.

Yudvir further said: “If I get an opportunity in playing 11, I will try to prove my mettle. The aim of my life is to get space in national side and make whole nation proud with my performance.”

He said that his message to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir will be whatever sport they are choosing, choose it fully and dedicate themselves completely to get the dreams fulfilled.

Pertinently, Yudvir is the 6th J&K player sold by an IPL franchise so far.

Before him Abdul Samad, Parvaiz Rasool, Rasikh Salam, Mohammad Mudhasir and Manzoor Pandav were picked up by teams, however Mohammed Mudhasir and Manzoor Pandav didn’t get any match to play—(KNO)
