Tally reaches 126,504; death toll reaches 1958; Active cases over 800 in J&K, recovery rate around 98 percent

Srinagar, Mar 01: Covid-19 on Monday claimed one more life in Jammu and Kashmir taking the toll of deaths related to Covid-19 to 1,958 while as 63 fresh positive cases were reported taking tally of positive cases to 126,504.

Of the exact number of 126,504 cases, 74,502 are from Kashmir and 52,002 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 63 new cases, 54 belong to Kashmir division while as 09 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 74,502 including 72,638 recoveries and 1,233 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 51,002 including 51,079 recoveries and 725 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 829 including 631 from Kashmir division and 198 from Jammu division.

With 56 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 123,717 which is 97.80 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 18 from Srinagar, 07 from Baramulla, 04 from Budgam, 06 from Pulwama, 03 from Kupwara, 11 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 02 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 09 from Jammu division include 07 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 27,037 positive cases including 461 deaths and 26,234 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,267 including 175 deaths and 8,002 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,885 including 7,735 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,863 including 5,737 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,689 including 97 deaths and 5,577 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,029 including 4,901 recoveries and 87 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,719 cases including 4,637 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,672 including 4,609 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,733 including 2,659 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,608 including 2,547 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 25,235 including 24,745 recoveries and 373 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,314 including 4,199 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,876 including 3,820 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,438 including 3,372 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,261 including 3,203 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,839 including 2,794 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,738 including 2,711 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,520 including 2,491 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,646 including 1,630 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,317,942 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 33,583 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 829 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,172,572 persons have completed surveillance period and 109,000 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,226,361 samples are available.

Out of 5,226,361 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,099,857 while as 126,286 have tested positive, among them 829 persons are active, 123,717 persons have recovered and 1,958 persons have died—(KNO)
