Srinagar, Mar 05: Covid-19 on Friday claimed one more life in Jammu and Kashmir taking the toll of deaths related to Covid-19 to 1,960 while as 81 fresh positive cases were reported taking tally of positive cases to 126,853.

Of the exact number of 126,853 cases, 74,788 are from Kashmir and 52,065 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 81 new cases, 61 belong to Kashmir division while as 20 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 74,788 including 72,845 recoveries and 1,234 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 52,065 including 51,157 recoveries and 726 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 891 including 709 from Kashmir division and 182 from Jammu division.

With 72 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 124,002 which is 97.77 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 35 from Srinagar, 09 from Baramulla, 08 from Budgam, 01 from Pulwama, 00 from Kupwara, 03 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 02 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 20 from Jammu division include 14 from Jammu, 02 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 04 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 27,220 positive cases including 461 deaths and 26,332 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,299 including 175 deaths and 8,049 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,910 including 7,750 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,876 including 5,740 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,691 including 97 deaths and 5,581 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,044 including 4,919 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,720 cases including 4,641 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,676 including 4,615 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,742 including 2,664 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,610 including 2,554 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 25,282 including 24,796 recoveries and 374 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,318 including 4,212 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,876 including 3,821 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,438 including 3,374 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,265 including 3,206 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,841 including 2,794 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,738 including 2,714 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,524 including 2,496 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,648 including 1,630 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,343,831 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 32,561 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 891 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,197,527 persons have completed surveillance period and 110,892 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,336,858 samples are available.

Out of 5,336,858 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,210,005 while as 126,853 have tested positive, among them 891 persons are active, 124,002 persons have recovered and 1,960 persons have died—(KNO)
