Srinagar, Mar 6: CPI (M) leader Mohammed Yousaf Tarigami has alleged central government of carrying out ‘political vendetta’ in the backdrop of a summon issued by Enforcement Directorate to PDP Chairperson Mehbooba Mufti.
In a statement issued to GNS, the Kashmir-based politician said that, “Summoning of PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is another glaring example how the BJP government at the center is trying to muzzle the voices of dissent by using probe agencies against political opponents.”
“This is nothing but a political vendetta and part of vindictive politics practiced by the central government to kill dissent and disagreement and to silence the genuine demand for the reversal of unilateral and unconstitutional decisions of August 5, 2019”, Tarigami maintained.
“The BJP government must realise the dangers of witch-hunting and intimidation and desist from vindictive designs and instead should hold dialogue with stakeholders and restore special status which remains the only option to address the deepening uncertainty in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh”, the political leader said.(GNS)
