Anantnag, Mar,08: The Government Degree College for Women Anantnag in collaboration with KRV Foundation organized a one day seminar on the theme “Women Empowerment”

In his inaugural speech Rafia Khaki DLSA Secretary , laid emphasis on imbibing the virtues of equality in our day to day life. She threw some light on the condition of women in the pre-Islamic world and how the religion of Islam came as a saviour for women and ensured their socio-economic upliftment.

On this occasion Deputy Commisioner Anshul Garg, Secretary education department Sanjeev Raina, Principal GDC women Ali Mohammad Dar,Shazia Bashir,Ridwana Sanam and other staffers of college as well as education department took participate in seminar.

Government Degree College Women Principal Ali Mohammad Dar while speaking on the occasion, exhorted the audience to treat women with respect and compassion. He drew parallels between the western and sub-continental socio-cultural set-ups which either limit or help in the process of women empowerment.

The speaker highlighted that “We live in a better world but not in a just world”. Also women empowerment in Islamic perspective were highlighted in Seminar.

Ridwana Sanam KRV Foundation Secretary while addressing and said “It is a day to celebrate the spirit of all women, who have played extraordinary roles in shaping their families, society and organizations with an untiring determination.we will distribute awards among students as encouragement appreciation token who do better for society.Every women have right to celebrate to influence others through mutal understanding as a key role of women and should have respect from both ends,a successful women do better for their society.Our country is one of the few places that boast of showcasing extraordinary women from very early times.

Singer Shazia Bashir talking with media and said The legendary women from the State also have played a dynamic role in reshaping the life of the modern day women.i feel proud being a woman and in modern era on every field women are on top shazia added;
