Srinagar, March 10: One militant has been killed in an ongoing overnight encounter at Kanidpora area of Bejbhera in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thrusday.
Official sources told GNS, that one militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter, however identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.
They further said that due to darkness operation was suspended for night yesterday to avoid collateral damage and was resumed today with the first light of the day.
Reports yesterday reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Kandipora.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.(GNS)
