Srinagar, Mar 12: The overnight heavy rains continued to lash plains of Kashmir while the weather conditions improved from Friday afternoon across the Valley with the local weatherman predicting more rains on March 14 and 15.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the higher reaches of the Valley mostly in north Kashmir continued to receive snowfall in the intervening night of Thursday-Friday, thus bringing down the temperature further across Kashmir.

However, the overnight rains that continued from last evening to morning hours in plains of the Valley, resulted in inundation of the roads, streets and bi-lanes, causing hardships to the pedestrians.

The wet-spell has brought chilly weather conditions back in the Valley, thus prompting people yet again to wear warm clothes like Kashmir’s traditional Pheran and Jackets.

Director Meteorological department (MeT), Sonum Lotus told KNO that the weather would remain dry tomorrow as per the forecast while there is possibility light rainfall across Kashmir on March 14 and 15 with main activity on March 14.

As per the details available, the night temperature at Gulmarg, the world famous ski-resort settled at minus 4.0 degree Celsius.

Srinagar, the summer capitals of Jammu and Kashmir, which received nearly 30.0mm of fresh rainfall, recorded the night temperature of 2.2 degrees Celsius—(KNO)
