Srinagar, Mar 18: The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir have once again started to rise as over 100 positive cases were reported for the second consecutive day pushing the number of active cases to almost 1100, which otherwise were less than 600 a few days ago.
Pertinently, one more person died due to pandemic taking the death toll to 1,978 while 149 fresh positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 128,097.
Of the exact number of 128,097 cases, 75,805 are from Kashmir and 52,292 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 140 new cases, 115 belong to Kashmir division while as 25 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 75,805 including 73,729 recoveries and 1,247 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 52,292 including 51,317 recoveries and 731 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,073 including 829 from Kashmir division and 244 from Jammu division.
With 74 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 125,046 which is 97.61 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 75 from Srinagar, 17 from Baramulla, 06 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama, 01 from Kupwara, 06 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 05 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 25 from Jammu division include 20 from Jammu, 02 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 02 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 27,810 positive cases including 465 deaths and 26,809 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,447 including 178 deaths and 8,167 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,995 including 7,816 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,916 including 5,794 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,726 including 97 deaths and 5,610 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,101 including 4,988 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,732 cases including 4,659 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,690 including 4,629 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,757 including 2,688 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,631 including 2,569 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 25,457 including 24,882 recoveries and 378 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,328 including 4,261 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,879 including 3,822 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,445 including 3,376 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,273 including 3,216 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,843 including 2,800 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Samba, 2,739 including 2,716 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,535 including 2,496 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,658 including 1,634 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,410,688 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 29,806 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,073 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,257,862 persons have completed surveillance period and 119,969 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,663,272 samples are available. Out of 5,663,272 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,535,175 while as 128,097 have tested positive, among them 1,073 persons are active, 125,046 persons have recovered and 1,978 persons have died—(KNO)
