Anantnag: Five vehicles were seized during illegal extraction in Anantnag .Dysp Dooru, ishant Gupta along with Station house officer Syed Nazir Andrabi launched a drive to enforce the ban on illegal material extraction from Brengi Nallah in Anantnag district.

After specific inputs of illegal extraction in zaldoora area of dooru area raid was conducted under supervision of ishant Gupta During the raid 3 JCB’s 1 dumper and a tractor loaded with illegally extracted boulders were seized. These vehicles were carrying material extracted from Nallah Brengi, and other streams of the district.

Police claimed they have arrested for accused persons involved in extraction namely
Sarvar Hussain ganie
Ibrahim. Ganie
R/O:- Rakhi Shilna tangan,Masroof wani
S/o:- Ab majid
Levdoora,Mushtaq bhat
S/O:- Ahsan bhat
Resident of gund fatehpora
Mohd altaf nanda
Ganie nanda bonthno.

In this regard fir 431/188 IPC U/s 18/21 has been launched and further investigation has been initiated.

On the occasion, Dysp ishant Gupta said that legal action would be taken against violators involved in the illegal material extraction. He said that the extraction of sand, gravel and boulders would be allowed only at the locations which are identified by the Department of Geology and Mining.

Due to illegal extraction of sand, gravel and boulders from the streams and nallahs not only Government is losing revenue but the constructed protection bunds on the said streams and nallahs also get damaged, he added.

Police appeal to general public for co operation against illegal extraction Mafia.
