Four more die of pandemic; Case tally at 131,421, Four more deaths reported, toll 1,998; Active cases increase to 2,874 ; recovery rate decreases to 96.29 per cent

Srinagar, April 01: The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to rise as 461 fresh positive cases, highest in the ongoing year, were reported on Thursday pushing the number of active cases near 2,531 which otherwise were less than 600 a few weeks before.
Four more deaths were reported in J&K in the last 24 hours taking the toll of deaths to 1, 998 and active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 373 fresh positive cases reported on Thursday pushed the tally of positive cases to 131,421.
Of the exact number of 131421 cases, 78,380 are from Kashmir and 53,041 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 461 new cases, 361 belong to Kashmir division while as 100 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 78,380 including 74,969 recoveries and 1,261 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 53,041 including 51,580 recoveries and 737 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2,874 including 2,150 from Kashmir division and 724 from Jammu division.
With 114 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 126,549 which is 96.29 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 157 from Srinagar, 76 from Baramulla, 26 from Budgam, 10 from Pulwama, 10 from Kupwara, 19 from Anantnag, 05 from Bandipora, 06 from Ganderbal, 49 from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 100 from Jammu division include 61 from Jammu, 04 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 21 from Doda, 06 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 03 from Kishtwar, 03 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 29,219 positive cases including 472 deaths and 27,589 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,924 including 181 deaths and 8,328 recoveries are from Baramulla, 8,234 including 7,934 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 6,002 including 5,822 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,817 including 97 deaths and 5,644 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,194 including 5,042 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,768 cases including 4,672 and 63 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,723 including 4,647 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,848 including 2,706 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,651 including 2,585 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 25,973 including 25,073 recoveries and 381 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,365 including 4,277 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,899 including 3,827 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,456 including 3,386 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,350 including 3,232 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,867 including 2,807 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Samba, 2,756 including 2,717 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,551 including 2,502 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Poonch, 2,159 including 2,117 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,665 including 1,642 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,515,253 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 34,928 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 2,874 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,352,135 persons have completed surveillance period and 123,318 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 6,089,662 samples are available. Out of 6,089,662 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,958,241 while as 131,421 have tested positive, among them 2,874 persons are active, 126,549 persons have recovered and 1,998 persons have died—(KNO)
