A lecture cum workshop on Women Empowerment was conducted by Koil COB at Higher Secondary School, Koil. The event was designed to help women gain confidence, practice self care and support each other’s personal or professional success.The event was attended by students, their parents and teachers who were encouraged to come forward to pursue their dreams and become self reliant.Various aspects of women empowerment, its importance and measures that can be taken to empower girls & women were discussed.The lecture cum workshop emphasised on creation of environment where women can live fearlessly, independently and with equal opportunities.Importance of *Six ‘S’* _(Shiksha, Swasthya, Samanta, Samajik Nyay and Self Reliance) and three L’s (Learning, Labour and Leadership)_ for empowering women and development of country was also emphasised during the workshop.
