Srinagar, Apr 05: The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to rise as 442 fresh positive cases were reported on Monday pushing the number of active cases near 4,154 which otherwise were less than 600 a few weeks before.

Two more deaths were reported in J&K in last 24 hours taking toll of deaths to 2,010 and active cases continues to increase and recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 442 fresh positive cases reported on Monday pushed the tally of positive cases to 133,454.

Of the exact number of 133,454 cases, 79,925 are from Kashmir and 53,529 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 442 new cases, 280 belong to Kashmir division while as 162 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 79,925 including 75,526 recoveries and 1,269 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 53,529 including 51,764 recoveries and 741 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,154 including 3,130 from Kashmir division and 1,024 from Jammu division.

With 241 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 127,290 which is 95.38 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 141 from Srinagar, 47 from Baramulla, 19 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama, 21 from Kupwara, 09 from Anantnag, 11 from Bandipora, 06 from Ganderbal, 21from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 162 from Jammu division include 97 from Jammu, 14 from Udhampur, 05 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 08 from Kathua, 02 from Samba, 01 from Kishtwar, 06 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 29 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 29,948 positive cases including 474 deaths and 27,914 recoveries are from Srinagar, 9,230 including 181 deaths and 8,431 recoveries are from Baramulla, 8,417 including 7,983:recoveries and 121 deaths are from Budgam, 6,032 including 5,837 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,878 including 97 deaths and 5,666 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,243 including 5,057 recoveries and 96 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,819 cases including 4,683 and 63 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,751 including 4,649 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,936 including 2,711 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,671 including 2,595 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 26,293 including 25,204 recoveries and 383 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,392 including 4,281 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,917 including 3,828 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,466 including 3,389 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,401 including 3,266 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,884 including 2,808 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Samba, 2,757 including 2,717 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,559 including 2,508 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Poonch, 2,165 including 2,119 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Ramban and 1,695 including 1,644 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,547,565 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 53,701 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 4,154 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,366,330 persons have completed surveillance period and 121,370 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 6,246,356 samples are available. Out of 6,246,356 the number of samples tested negative stands at 6,112,902 while as 133,454 have tested positive, among them 4,154 persons are active, 127,290 persons have recovered and 2,010 persons have died—(KNO)
