Sopore, July 06 : The Takiyabal Krankshivan area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district is reeling under darkness for the last six days as the transformer had developed some technical snag.
The aggrieved residents of Shah i Hamdan Colony Takiyabal said, that they have not been provided electricity for last six days, as the transformer of the area has developed a technical snag disrupting the power supply in the area.
They said that the transformer is developing technical snag frequently, which clearly shows that it’s not sufficient to cater to the electricity needs of the area.
Despite couple of assurances by the Power Development Department (PDD), nothing has changed at the ground level, residents added.
Meanwhile official at Power Development Department (PDD) Sopore, when contacted told, the transformer has been repaired and will be issued by tomorrow.
Pertinently the Power Development Department (PDD) had set 24 hours deadline for replacing damaged electricity transformers in the urban areas and 48 hours in rural areas in a bid to provide relief to the consumers.
