Anantnag, Aug, 15: 75th Independence Day was celebrated with fervor, zeal and national spirit across jammu and Kashmir.
The 75th Independence Day functions were held at District, Tehsil, Block and Niabat headquarters by hoisting Tricolor and paying tributes to the frontline leaders and heroes of freedom struggle.
Block development Council chair person Ms Firdousa unfurled the national flag at BDO office Achabal where the function of the 75th Independence Day was held with patriotic fervour and traditional zeal and took the salute at the march past comprising contingents of JK police and CRPF,on parade.
while extending warm greetings to the Public and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters whose supreme sacrifices won the freedom to India.She also paid homage to all the martyrs who laid their lives from time to time for safeguarding territorial integrity of state and nation.
Vice Chairman BDC Achabal Mohd Maqbool Ganie highlighted the importance of Independence Day and stated that it is the most significant day in the history of India as on this day the sun of independence dawned on the horizon of our motherland and the National government came into power after prolong struggle and we became a Independent and sovereign nation.
He also said that a transparent, accountable, responsive and efficient administration is ensured in the district and persistent efforts are being made to reach out to the public at their door steps for delivery of services and listening to their grievances.
Later on Awards and Appreciation cerificates were distributed among media persons and other officers of departments as health Education forest NGO’s Police etc who played vital role for betterment of society.
