Anantnag: The Government’s public outreach cum grievance redressal programme, Block Divas resumed today, here. In this connection, District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla chaired a meeting with the general public, their elected representatives and delegations at Dak Bangalow Achabal. The programme was also attended by Member DDC Achabal, SSP, ADDC, CPO, ACD, CMO, DSWO, BDO, BMO, Exen R & B and other officers.

During the programme, the local people and PRI members put forth their demands viz upgradation of facilities at SDH Achabal, macadamisation of roads, PMAY sanctions, sorting water supply issues in some areas etc.

ACD briefed about the schemes of the Rural Development Department and appealed to the people to participate in the Gram Sabhas for prioritising and seeking early redressal of their genuine demands.

The DDC listened to the public representatives and delegations patiently and said that district administration is focussed to redress their all genuine issues in a time bound manner.

Emphasising the importance of Gram Sabhas, the DDC advised the people and PRIs to project their local aspirations, needs and demands through this platform. He expressed satisfaction over the fact that a number of public demands have been taken up in the capex budget.

Later, the DDC flagged off a Publicity Van which will be utilised to carry out an awareness campaign on the importance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour and Vaccination in rural and far-flung areas of the district. The Van shall be used for making announcements, playing pre-recorded audio messages besides distributing printed material and face masks among the people.

Pertinent to mention, the Van is being provided by Field Outreach Bureau (Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting), Anantnag. Officials of FOB, health and others were present on the occasion.
