Anantnag, Dec, 10: An important meeting was organized by the Municipal Committee, Dooru regarding Biomedical Waste Segregation at the Town Hall, Dooru under the chairmanship of M.C. President, Dooru.

Medical Superintendent, Dr. Rafi Salati and other pharmacists of Dooru area participated in the meeting. During the meeting, the vendors were made aware and were provided with detailed information regarding bio-medical waste segregation and its effects.

The vendors were also urged to collect dispose of Bio-Medical Waste in different coloured dustbins and to control the spread of disease in the area. On the occassion, Ahangar said that the biomedical waste segregation comes out from drug dealers Pharma shops in form of needles, syringes, gauze or drip sets should be dangerous for the common masses.

He stressed the need of keeping four different colored dustbins available in shops to avoid pollute the environment. On this occasion, President Municipal Committee Dooru, Verinag, Muhammad Iqbal Ahangar, warned the shopkeepers to lift the bio-medical waste dispose in front of their shops within a week. He also asked them to keep dustbins available in order to control spread of disease and keep the surroundings free from pollution.

It is pertinent to mention that the meeting was first of its kind. All the citizens and locals appreiciate the step taken by Muncipal Committee, Dooru.
