Srinagar reports 55 cases, case tally at 339,691 death toll reaches to 4,511, active cases reaches to 1,458, recovery rate at 98.24 percent

Srinagar, Dec 18: Jammu and Kashmir Saturday reported one death and 151 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,458.

With one more death, the death toll in the UT has reached 4,511 and 151 fresh positive cases reported on Saturday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 339,691.

Of the exact number of 339,691 cases, 213,873 are from Kashmir division and 125,818 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 151 new cases, 109 belong to Kashmir division while as 42 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 213,873 including 210,459 recoveries and 2,317 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 125,818 including 123,263 recoveries and 2,194 deaths

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,458 including 1,097 from Kashmir division and 361 from Jammu division.

With 140 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 333,722 which is 98.24 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 55 from Srinagar, 17 from Baramulla, 09 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama, 07 from Kupwara, 01 from Anantnag, 06 from Bandipora, 12 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 42 from Jammu division include 17 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 02 from Rajouri, 02 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 01 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 04 from Ramban and 15 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities on Saturday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 50.

As per officials figures, 78,242 positive cases including 879 deaths and 76,832 recoveries are from Srinagar, 25,799 including 290 deaths and 25,320 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,404 including 24,132 recoveries and 214 deaths are from Budgam, 15,675 including 15,438 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,886 including 167 deaths and 14,642 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,709 including 16,486 recoveries and 208 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,115 cases including 9,949 and 108 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,890 including 10,698 recoveries and 80 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,537 including 11,407 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,616 including 5,555 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 53,960 including 52,592 recoveries and 1,154 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,464 including 11,311 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,361 including 11,106 recoveries and 239 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,003 including 7,834 recoveries and 136 deaths are from Doda, 9,378 including 9,217 recoveries and 153 deaths are from Kathua, 7,173 including 7,049 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,845 including 4,791 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,575 including 6,447 recoveries and 100 deaths are from Poonch, 6,064 including 5,990 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,995 including 6,926 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 4,964,590 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,479 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,458 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 4,522,610 persons have completed the surveillance period and 428,532 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 18,603,920 samples are available. Out of 18,603,920 the number of samples tested negative stands at 18,264,229 while as 339,691 have tested positive, among them 1,458 persons are active, 333,722 persons have recovered and 4,511 persons have died—(KNO)
