e-Shram Card 2022:

The government introduced the e-Shram platform in August 2021 to improve the implementation of different social security policies for unorganized sector workers. The Ministry of Labor and Employment launched the e-Shram portal to help workers in the unorganized sector who aren’t members of the EPFO or ESIC.

After signing up for the Shramik Yojana and acquiring an e-Shram card, registered people will be eligible for a variety of incentives. Apart from that, the government’s acceptance of social security program will assist workers.

According to the Ministry of Labor and Employment’s website, the following is key information about e-Shram.

There are 3 types of Benefits in this Scheme:

The first benefit pertains to accidental death.

If the insured person dies, the nominee will get Rs 2 lakh.

If someone loses both of his/her hands, feet, or eyes in an accident, he/she will still get the benefit of Rs 2 lakhs.

If he/she loses sight of one eye or is disabled in one leg or hand, then he/she will get a benefit of Rs 1 lakh.

Documents Required for e-Shram Card

Aadhar card, a mobile number that should be linked to Aadhar for worker labor/laborer to register for the e-shram card. There is no fee to be paid for registration. As this facility is free-of-cost.

How to register for e-Shram Card?

You can register for the e-shram card in 3 simple ways.

Self-registration can be done through the official website of e-shram portal.

You can register through Common Service Centers.

Registration can also be done by the regional offices of the state government in the districts/sub-districts.

Note:

There are over 23,16,67,200 e-Shram Card have been issued so far. Also, the registration for the e-Shram card is absolutely free-of-cost. And, if you have already registered, then, it’s the time to update your e-Shram card. As it is very important, to update e-Shram card once in a year to keep your account Active!
