Anantnag: The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated at Kokernag with patriotic fervor. Block Development Chairperson Parveena Akhter unfurled the national tricolor at Kokernag Club and took salute at an impressive march past comprising contingents of Jammu and Kashmir Police, and Paramilitary Forces.
Addressing the gathering of the people on the 73rd Republic Day recalled the contribution of the architects of the Constitution and supreme sacrifices of the national heroes who laid down their lives for the freedom and well-being of the country he also highlighted the role of Mahatma Gandhi and Other Freedom Fighters who laid a vital role in Freedom of India. He also praised the services of the paramilitary forces and police in guarding the frontiers of the country in harsh weather conditions and for maintaining the internal security.School childrens also perform dance on stage.
BDC Parveena Akhter highlighted the achievements and current developmental activities undertaken by the State Government. He expressed gratitude to the Centre for their keen interest and concern towards the development of State.
Later on the BDC Kokernag also Contribute prizes among several government employees, Sectorial officers, individuals and Media Persons for exemplary and meritorious public services.
