Srinagar, Jul 12: Additional director general of police Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar on Tuesday said that they were analysing the CCTV footage of the attack site, where a police ASI was killed and two more cops were injured after militants attacked a naka party in Lal Bazar area of Srinagar.

Talking to reporters here, Kumar, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that since today was the 3rd day of Eid al-Adha, so there was huge rush of families and in order to regulate the rush a naka of small team of police was laid in the area.

“The make team consisted of ASI and two other policemen, so militants took advantage of that and fired indiscriminately upon the naka party, in which one ASI was killed and two more cops got injured,” he said.

Kumar said that the two policemen who got injured in the attack were stable and were undergoing treatment at the hospital.

He added that they were analysing the CCTV footage to ascertain who carried out the attack and the militants involved in the act will soon be neutralised.

ASI of Jammu and Kashmir police identified as Mushtaq Ahmad was killed, while two more cops including a head constable and an SPO were injured after militants attacked them in Lal Bazar area of Srinagar on Tuesday evening—(KNO)
