Srinagar, July 12: Police on Tuesday said that militants managed to escape after brief gunfight in Reban Zainapora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A top police officer told GNS that after the intial contact was established with the hiding militants, there was complete lull in firing from both sides.
The searches continued throughout night, however no militant was found at the encounter. It seems that due to darkness militants believed to be two in number managed to escape, the officer added.
Yesterday late night a gunfight ensued between militants and security forces in Reban area of Shopian.(GNS)
