Anantnag, Jul 30: A young girl from Anantnag district has published her first anthology highlighting the state of mind of people suffering from mental stress.

Adina Rashid, a 12th class science student at Hanfiya High School Anantnag published her debut anthology “Brain in Chains”.

She told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that she was inclined towards writing since her childhood and saw writing as an escape from stress

“My book is collection of about 20 poems and it highlights the state of mind of a person who is suffering from mental stress,” she said.

“Since times have been quite difficult for the youth of today as most of our childhood passed in chaos and political tension followed by a pandemic which really took a toll on our mental health.”

Adina said that she wanted readers to know that they are not alone and they must try to overcome every situation.

“This book will give readers an insight of their insecurities and how their mind tricks them into thinking they are not worth it but the reality is we have been so harsh on ourselves that we don’t let ourselves breathe,” she added.

“The craving for perfection, the need to prove ourselves to the world makes us lose our own battles, she said, while adding that we need to prioritise our peace over literally anything.

The book also speaks about some human emotions that all of us face but are not very expressive about. It talks about friendships betrayals and the feelings of being wronged, Adina said.

“We can only survive in this world by accepting ourselves and acknowledging our hardships,” she added—(KNO)
