Kulgam, Aug, 15; 76th Independence Day was celebrated with great gaiety and patriotic enthusiasm across district Kulgam. The main function was held at DPL Kulgam where DDC Chairperson Kulgam shri Mohammad Afzal Parray(Chief Guest) accompanied by DM Kulgam Shri Dr. Bilal Mohiudin Bhat-IAS and SSP Kulgam Shri Dr.G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS unfurled the national flag, took salute at the March past and inspected the parade commanded by Dy.SP PC Hatipora Shri Arif Hussain-JKPS in which contingents of JKP, JKAP, Lady Police, CRPF, Police band of district Police Kulgam and NCC presented the march past.

Other officers of civil administration, Police, Army, CRPF, and other other officers and officials of concerned departments were also present on the occasion.

Chief Guest in his address highlighted the achievements and various developmental aspects during the year-2022 and congratulated the participants for celebrating 76th Independence Day with gaiety and fervour. Various scintillating and colourful cultural programs were also presented. A large number of people witnessed the function.

Keeping in view nefarious designs of anti-social activists/miscreants who may try to disrupt the peace and order on this occasion, elaborate security arrangements were made by district Police Kulgam with other security forces in this behalf. Later prizes and appreciation certificates were also given to the best performing continents, Police personnel who tirelessly worked hard by putting their lives at risk in safeguarding general public and officers/officials of civil administration for their best performances.
