Srinagar, Oct 3: A soldier allegedly committed suicide in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.
Official sources said that bullet-ridden body of a soldier was found in a pool of blood in the washroom in Boniyar Uri, where the deceased soldier was posted.
The slain soldier has been identified as Rahul Bhagat son of Anand Bhagat of Maharashtra.
Sources added that the cause of the death of the soldier is still unknown and it is not clear whether the soldier has committed suicide with his service rifle or had become the prey of accidental fire.
Police have started an investigation under 174 CrPC in this regard. (KNT)
