Imran Khan: Pakistan’s former prime minister injured in shooting
Imran Khan, the former Pakistani prime minister, has reportedly been injured in a shooting attack during a march on the capital Islamabad with his supporters.

Unidentified gunmen opened fire on the vehicle carrying Mr Khan as it passed through Wazirabad, Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper reported on Thursday.

Local media reports claimed Mr Khan had been shot in the leg, while Pakistani news channel ARY broadcast video appearing to show Mr Khan being carried through a crowd by attendants.

The footage showed a bandage tied around Mr Khan’s leg.

Farrukh Habib, of Mr Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, said: “Imran Khan is injured, may Allah protect him, the whole nation should pray for the life of Imran Khan.”

Azhar Mashwani, a spokesman for Mr Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, said the former prime minister was “safe” and that the suspect has been arrested.
