SHOPIAN, MARCH 19: The Department of Horticulture, Planning & Marketing, Shopian today organized an awareness Programme on Schemes related to Post Harvest management of Agriculture /Horticulture Produce at Firdous Cold Store Industrial Estate Aglar Shopian.
Fruit growers, the managerial staff of various cold stores attended the programme along with representatives of line departments.
Assistant, Grading and Marketing, Officer Shopian Shabir Ahmad while welcoming the participants highlighted the importance of awareness programmes in disseminating the information about the welfare schemes of the Government.
Speaking on the occasion, the Area Marketing Officer Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone presented overview of various Centrally/U.T sponsored schemes related to Post Harvest Management of Agriculture/Horticulture Produce being run under the mandate of the Department.
In view of the integration of Mega Fruit Mandi Aglar Shopian with e-NAM Platform and declaration of CA Stores as Sub yards of Mandis, Jameel Jeelani State Co-coordinator for e-NAM shared information with the participants about the working of this digital Platform which may prove a game changer in doubling the farmers income.
